Educational artificial intelligence (AI) programs are a recent implication into the scope of teacher perspectives. OpenAI, the developer of programs such as ChatGPT and Dall-e has designed them with the unique ability "to get users' feedback and learn about its strengths and weaknesses" (OpenAI, 2022; as cited by Gordijn and Have, 2023), as such, this creates an issue for the representation of creative uses for children's learning. However, thinking of AI in a classroom as a hindrance will only limit opportunities for alternative learning experiences, allowing such programs to be regarded as "just another tool in the ever-growing toolbox available to academics" (Gordijn and Have, 2023).
The concerns of the use of AI in classrooms is reflected in this unit and has been discussed in the tutorials, specifically ChatGPT, however discussion and experimentation has shown alternate ways of expressing creative ideas. Mumford's (2003) definition of creativity states it is "the production of novel ad useful products characterized by originality, expressiveness and imagination", by knowing this we are able to clearly see that AI allows easy visualization/writing of student's own ideas, which was done in the tutorial.

Creating a response using ChatGPT in the EDUC3620 Tutorial
The use of AI may appear like a task for individuals, however, as suggested in the tutorial, tasks may be created which help develop collaborative skills. The task suggested that a student would place a prompt into Dall-e and then give the generated image to another student, after which they would try and write a similar prompt to recreate the image. This could be used with ChatGPT alone as students could try and decipher the prompt used in a story. According to Wheeler et al's (2002) definition of creativity, creativity is a process rather than a product, by understanding this we can see that collaborative work can allow students to express creative ideas and work in order to achieve a result. The ideas and methods used to reach the goal, whether right or wrong, will help develop student's knowledge and creativity.
Although not perfected in teaching entirely, the use of AI as a collaborative tool is what will appear to be the best use in the future for creative learning. By understanding the unique nature of AI, as well as digital technology as a whole, teachers will be able to incorporate alternative learning experiences into lessons that can help students be creative thinkers.

Hi Tyler,
Thank you for sharing your insightful critique of artificial intelligence platforms such as chatGPT and DALL-E. I found your points really interesting and actually agreed with many of them especially when you state that: "thinking of AI in a classroom as a hindrance will only limit opportunities for alternative learning experiences". Similarity to you, i also think that platforms such as DALL-E would be an excellent resource to use in class, especially for students who struggle to imagine things and as a result think they aren't creative. I also think this helps foster creativity as students can be as creative as they can be in their writing and have their imagination come to life for them to physically…
Hi Tyler
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge about ChatGPT and how it can be implemented within the classroom. Your critical analysis was effective in demonstrating the effects of AI and the impacts it can create to demonstrate creative thinking and writing. A few things to note, I would love to see how ChatGPT can be effectively used within a classroom environment practically to increase creativity, which can involve hands-on interaction by students specifically. For example, students can use ChatGPT to create effective creative writing story prompts, which can spark ideas and individualised responses. I would also love to see how ChatGPT connects to other pedagogical uses other than socio-connectivism and how it can enhance creativity. Thank you very much for…
Hi Taylor,
Your blog about chatGPT is very interesting, there really have been a lot of concerns about this technology lately. Developing collaboration skills through chatGPT and Dall-e seems amazing. As well as a great idea of using technology to present creative ideas to everyone. I really agree with you that creativity is a process rather than an outcome. Although it is not well integrated into teaching, in which subject area do you think this technology would be most effective?

Hi Tyler,
I really enjoyed your critique of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it could be used in classrooms to promote students creativity. I thought it was really helpful that you included the youtube clip at the start, as it provided me with a brief summary of what ChatGPT is and how it works. This was good for building background on the topic. The task that you suggested in your critique seems like it would be beneficial for students and may even help to build their collaboration skills as they break down the prompts.

Hi Tyler,
This is a great post about how artificial intelligence is used to promote creativity in the classroom. I only found out about chatGPT just recently and it is a great platform.
I couldn't agree more with your judgement about how CHATGPT can create an issue for “the representation of creative users for children’s learning”. It can have huge impact on reducing students creativity without a doubt because students can become reliant on it and can almost not trust their own vision or creativity anymore since someone is doing their work for them. I felt like that as well when I used it once.
However, like you said these emerging technologies can still allow “easy…
